ASUS ROG to Continue Hosting Esports IPs in India in 2021

ASUS ROG, announced Thursday the second leg of the ROG Showdown – a series of online tournaments that focuses on PC titles. The ROG Showdown is a part of the company’s #StayAtHome initiative which provides opportunities for gamers during the global pandemic. 

The ROG Showdown is an existing property that the company has been running since 2020 and plans to expand and continue in the coming months. The second edition of ROG Showdown will start on Jan. 29. Participants will be able to participate in a series of tournaments revolving around Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Valorant. A prize pool of INR 190K ($2,600) has been allocated for the tournaments. In the past, ROG has hosted tournaments in CS:GO, League of Legends and PUBG, in India. 

According to ASUS, the first edition of the ROG Showdown saw close to 7K participants which included teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The tournament featured a prize pool of INR 560K ($7.6K) and concluded in December 2020 (ASUS ROG is a client of AFK Gaming)
