A new update is live in Fortnite Season 3 and it’s introduced some much-anticipated map changes. Going live on August 1, the update didn’t bring anything to the game except for a new map. However, the changes are fairly substantial, as Epic Games is preparing for the end of Season 3. The water has receded to its lowest point and from this, a new POI has risen up, being Coral Castle. That’s not all though, as the Ancient Astronaut looks closer to making their debut in Fortnite.
The new Coral Castle POI in Fortnite
While the arrival of Coral Castle is intriguing, some fans were disappointed with its debut. Many in the community thought this location would eventually be the Atlantis POI since Aquaman is this season’s Battle Pass star.
The game files and leaks seemed to back this up as well. Although, it appears Epic Games went with a more traditional name with Coral Castle. You can find the new location in the northwest corner of the map. The POI is a plethora of ruins and different looking coral plants.

Overall, Coral Castle is a neat location that brings a different look to Fortnite Season 3. However, it will forever have a cloud over its head for not being the Atlantis location the community desired. You can see where the new Fortnite POI is located on the map down below courtesy of @ShiinaBR.

Ancient Astronaut reappears in Season 3
In addition to the new POI, the recently-discovered Ancient Astronaut also received an update. If you go to where his ship is located, which is off the coast of Craggy Cliffs, you’ll receive an achievement for visiting the Ancient Ship. Moreover, you can also find some missing parts for the ship that will active the spacecraft.
That’s all the August 1 update brought in Season 3! Make sure to keep up with Daily Esports for all Fortnite news and guides.
