HP to Buy HyperX From Kingston Technology Company for $425M

U.S.-based PC manufacturer HP Inc. announced Wednesday that it plans to purchase Kingston Technology Company’s HyperX gaming division for $425M USD.

HP will pay Kingston Technology $425M to purchase the HyperX brand and its portfolio of gaming peripherals, but will Kingston will retain the “DRAM, flash, and SSD products for gamers and enthusiasts.”

HP said in a release that the acquisition, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, will be accredited “on a non-GAAP basis to HP in the first full year following closing,” with an expected close in the Q2 2021 calendar year.
