Overwolf, the company behind an all-in-one technology platform that enables creators to build, distribute, and monetize in-game apps and mods, announced that it has brought on Shahar Sorek as its new chief marketing officer. Shahar has more than 12 years of experience working in the games and technology space and once held an advisory position within the company.
Shahar is a veteran that has founded and managed many startups such as 7 Elements Studios, a game studio specializing in massive-multiplayer-online strategy games. While at 7 Element Studios, he was able to help build social networks surrounding free-to-play games for “super whales” (those who spend large sums within games) that once saw users spend more than $5M USD in a single game.
Prior to Overwolf, Shahar served as CMO at Spacemesh, where his responsibilities included leading branding efforts, go-to-market strategies, and product marketing execution. Now at Overwolf, Shahar will “oversee marketing strategy and partnerships with various industry stakeholders.”
