Salem wins Smash Ultimate Singles at Frame Perfect Series 3: Online – Daily Esports

Saleem “Salem” Young won Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles at Frame Perfect Series 3: Online on November 8. This marked his first victory at a major online tournament this year. Rather than using his main character, Snake, Salem relied on his Hero and Steve secondaries.

Salem coasted into winners side of top 32 with a series of predictable victories. After dropping a game to Xavier “Savior” Sanchez in his first set of the tournament, Salem swept his next opponents. This included 2-0 wins against Sam “SAMFISH” Schilling, Rodrigo “Cloudy” Arias, and Bernardo “Bernie” Maciel.

Afterward, Salem scored his first upsets of the Frame Perfect Series 3: Online Smash Ultimate bracket. He defeated Leonardo “MkLeo” Lopez Perez in his first match of top 32. Then in Winners Quarters, Salem decisively beat Gabriel “Epic_Gabriel” Romero 2-0.

In Winners Semis, Salem scored a 3-2 victory over Carlos “Sonix” Pérez. Then, he faced an unexpected opponent: Wii Fit Trainer main Varun “varun” Rao. Not only did Salem beat varun 3-1 in Winners Finals, but he conquered varun again in Grand Finals. In their second set, Salem finished his Frame Perfect Series 3: Online Ultimate run with a commanding 3-0 victory.
