French esports organization Team Vitality signed a partnership agreement Thursday with Garmin built around promoting the company’s new esports edition smartwatch. Team Vitality and Garmin will join forces to further develop the product.
The Instinct Esports Edition watch features a function dedicated to analyzing biometric data while its wearer is playing a game, displaying heart rate and stress level which can be integrated with an in-game timer. Team Vitality CEO Nicolas Maurer noted in a release that the function has potential broadcast implications, allowing an esports commentary team to highlight a player’s stress levels during a key moment of a match.
Last year, Garmin also signed a partnership deal with Astralis.
