We've been hearing rumours about a Demon's Souls remake for a while now, and new information suggests that the project could be coming to PlayStation 5 …. and only PlayStation 5.
Known industry insider "Tidux" has sent out a tweet suggesting that we will be seeing the highly-anticipated remaster launch exclusively on Sony's next-gen console.
"Tidux" has a good track record, too: the leaker previously managed to accurately predict announcements for Titanfall and Fallout 4, and has been a steady source of PlayStation 4 information to boot.
We reckon "Tidux" has a good enough track record that we can take this rumour a little more seriously than most of the other the rumours we see – but of course, take this information with a pinch of salt.
PS5 News and Leaks
In a tweet , the insider simply says:
"Demon souls is a PlayStation 5 exclusive"
If this is true, then we can say one thing for sure: the game will not be releasing on PlayStation 4. Sony has revealed that there will be no cross-gen games at launch for the PS5 – anything that comes out for the PS5 in 2020 and 2021, therefore, will not be cross-gen.
Stay tuned to Daily Star Gaming for more information on PlayStation 5 games as they happen – for now you can take a look at Godfall (the only currently confirmed PS5 game) below.
The Demon Soul's Remake is very much expected to come from remaster virtuosos, Bluepoint Games.
Bluepoint Games’ president Marco Thrush recently confirmed that the studio's next project is a PlayStation 5 game, and that the secretive game will 'replace Shadow of the Colossus as the greatest achievement' for the studio.
We're expecting an announcement about the PlayStation 5 release date and a tentative line-up of launch games soon – as ever, we'll keep you updated as soon as anything about the next-gen wondermachine gets revealed.
