Another PS5 leak shows off a real dev kit in action

The PlayStation 5 hasn't had the smoothest pre-release period so far.

Sony's next-gen device has seen consistent leaks, and the company hasn't even formally announced the machine yet! We've seen Sony give little hints about the console, its specs and its hardware in various interviews, but there has been no proper unveiling of the machine that's due to release Holiday 2020.

After an initial leak of what could potentially be the PS5's final design surfaced last week, Sony could be having to deal with even more leaks today yet more images of the console have hit the internet.

A Facebook post, which was then shared on ResetEra , seems to reveal that the big, V-shaped, vent-heavy design we've seen in the mock-ups is accurate – at least for dev kits.

The new images supposedly come from a cleaner doing the rounds at a developer's studio, assumedly once the majority of the staff had left the premises.

"Please do not share this" the post reads… but if you're posting something like this to your social media you can probably expect it to go further than you intended.

Interestingly, we also catch a glimpse of the DualShock 5 here, too – something that has not been officially revealed or named by Sony yet.

The pad seems to keep the same basic shape as the PlayStation 4 pad, though the new one is a little chunkier in the grips. The touch pad is kept, and the analogue sticks seem a little closer to the pad than they are on the DS4.

It's worth bearing in mind that the machine you see in the images above is unlikely to be the final retail version of the PlayStation 5. This will be the hardware that developers use to create software for the console, and the dev kits often look pretty different from the final release units.

Sony is still keeping quiet about the PS5, but we're expecting a formal unveiling of the machine sooner rather than later.
