A petition to ban white supremacist content from YouTube has singled out PewDiePie.
With nearly 80,000 signatures at the time of writing, the Change.org petition wants PewDiePie to be permantently removed from YouTube.
The creator of the petition believes that PewDiePie’s actions are a “clear and present danger to society”, especially as the channel is “very much aimed toward children in their formative years”.
“In the wake of the most recent mosque shooting I believe it is time to take action as a community and remove white supremacist content from our platforms,” the petition reads.
“One of the largest platforms for white supremacist content is PewDiePie’s YouTube channel. PewDiePie has on many occasions proven once and again to promote and affiliate himself with white supremacist and Nazi ideologies.
“Worst of all his channel is very much aimed toward children in their formative years. The New Zealand mosque shooter even mentioned PewDiePie by name and asked people to subscribe.”

In a YouTube video posted this weekend, PewDiePie denies the claims made in the petition.
“I mean honestly like, it’s surprising how Change.org is even letting this be up, because there’s no, nothing to back up any of the claims,” he said.
PewDiePie also said that while the petition is laughable, it’s clear that lots of people believe the innacuracies.
PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, previously said that he was sickened to have his name uttered by the New Zealand mosque attacker.
“Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch,” he tweeted at the time.
“I feel absolutely sickened having my name uttered by this person.
“My heart and thoughts go out to the victims, families and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
