This weekend’s Fortnite event is not expected to leak early on the internet, and that means gamers are relying on Epic Games to provide new hints on what is going to happen next.

The good news is that the team behind the hit Battle Royale game have a good track record of sharing small leaks and teasers in the build-up to live events.

And it looks like Epic Games have dropped the first teaser regarding just how big the upcoming Fortnite event could be.

A new video has been posted online regarding Operation Skyfire, including an unknown voice talking about the upcoming Operation.

It reveals big misgivings about trusting Dr Slone, and what might be found on the Alien Ship.

It also reveals that whatever is found at the end of the new Fortnite event, could have huge implications for Chapter 2 Season 8.

A transcript reads: “And there’s something else. There might be something on that ship that not even Slone knows about.

“I don’t want to lead you down a panic spiral, whatever you think the worst thing ever is, this might be way way…”

This would make sense as Operation Skyfire is expected to end the current Alien storyline and following it up with something completely different.

More clues are expected to be dropped over the coming days by Epic Games, so it will be worth keeping track of what happens via the official social media channels.

Fortnite: Epic Games tease Invasion storyline in trailer

From what has been shared so far, Operation Skyfire will be a special interactive event that will not be available to replay after it ends.

With the Mothership’s sights set on the Imagined Order’s secret base at Corny Complex, Slone has hatched a plan to end the Invasion once and for all.

Putting a stop to the Alien’s occupation is expected to be a big visual experience and probably explains why we missed out on a big Fortnite Season 7 event.

The other big news expected to be shared during the event is the start date for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8, which is expected to begin around September 13.

Here’s some of the important information shared by Epic Games regarding the big Fortnite event kicking off this weekend:

“Operation: Sky Fire — Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 7 ending event — takes place at 4 PM ET on September 12. Join a strike team and sneak aboard the Mothership to deliver IO’s final message to the invading Aliens.

“The Operation: Sky Fire event playlist will be available 30 minutes prior to start for players to jump in and reserve their spot in the mission. Be sure to log in early and standby for go time. You can join the event with a full lobby of 16 friends, so bring the whole squad and more to help you tackle Slone’s secret mission.

“For content creators and players looking to relive the moments of Operation: Sky Fire – note that replays for the event will not be available. Please take appropriate steps to record and archive your experience to share with everyone.”
