Fortnite update 9.20 Patch Notes: Server Downtime, Proximity Grenade Launcher, Prop Hunt

Proximity Grenade Launcher

As with most Fortnite content updates, we’ve got a new weapon in the wings, already teased on Fortnite’s in-game news feed.

The Proximity Grenade Launcher should be coming tomorrow and has a teaser message that reads: “It’s not a horseshoe or hand grenade, but close still counts.”

Leaked files would indicate that the Grenade Launcher will be available in legendary and epic varients. As such, don’t expect to find plenty of these around the map even once they are added into the game.

Should you find one, it’s worth noting that the Epic variant should do 67 damage, compared to 70 damage for the Legendary.

NEW LTMS

According to Fortnite Insider there are two new LTMs on the way which were leaked in the files for the last 9.20 update.

The first is Beach Assault and the description for this mode reads,

“The war is almost over. Storm the beach defenses and destroy the doomsday cannon, or stage a last-ditch defense to keep the invaders at bay.”

  • Attackers: Assault the beach, destroy the sentries and reach the forward checkpoint then assault the objective. Look for extra ways into the compound.
  • Defenders: Get to the wall and help your sentries repel the invaders. Try to protect them for 15 minutes.

You can see the loading screen for this LTM above.

The second LTM is Prop Hunt and the description for the mode reads, “Hide and Seek with a twist! Play 2 rounds. The team that eliminates the most props wins!”

  • The Prop team must disguise themselves with the Prop-o-matic and hide among the clutter to avoid detection.
  • The Hunter team must use their wits and their weapons to find and eliminate the pesky props. Be aware, props make a sound every 15 seconds!

Fortnite insider also has a list of the props people can disguise themselves as. Follow to link to see more.
