God of War fans are trying their hardest to figure out how old Kratos is, which is quite the challenge considering he's essentially immortal and lived in two different pantheons for unknown amounts of time.
Over the course of eight different games, we as players have come to know a fair bit about who Kratos is, especially with how much time is put into his character development in God of War Ragnarok. There's one big question that seems almost impossible to answer, however – how old is Kratos?
Despite how difficult this question may seem, that hasn't stopped fans of the series from trying to work it out, or at least get a close estimate of how long the God of War has been around. The quest for answers was started by Redditor Silver-Right over on the God of War subreddit, when they asked, "How old is Kratos exactly especially considering he was born in Ancient Greece?"
Ignoring the responses that are just memes or discussions on Kratos' face tattoo (although, to be fair it is weird that they changed how long it is), a few Redditors have some clever answers to the question. One such answer comes from Feanixxxx, who says that Kratos would be around 1,000 years old, citing the fact that God of War 3's ending takes place in 464 BC while the events of Fimbulwinter take place in 545 AD. Adding up the distance between them and accounting for the years between games would make Kratos around 1,000 years old.
However, other fans on Reddit were quick to point out that Kratos actually brought the events of Fimbulwinter forward by a few hundred years after killing Baldur, which means that he'd probably be somewhere between 800 and 1,000 years old. It's not a concrete answer by any means, but it's fun to theorise about considering all of the hints and data points the games give about Kratos' involvement in mythology.
