GreedFall: How To Get Each Ending

GreedFall offers players five different endings in total, offering plenty of replayability, especially if you want to earn the achievements/trophies related to unlocking each one. The decisions you make throughout the game will shape what endings are available to you at the end.

Just below is a summary of the key choices needed in order to unlock each ending. It is possible to unlock all of the endings without playing multiple times as long as you save strategically, then reload save files to make different decisions afterward. Naturally, there are some spoilers ahead.

A Better World

This is the best ending that you can achieve, so understandably it will take the most amount of effort on your part.

In order to achieve this ending, you need to meet certain requirements. We recommend multiple save files regardless, but ensure that you save before the quests mentioned below so that you can reload if you do not complete it with the required outcome.

Ensure you make a manual save before uniting all factions (before completing “Egon’s Face” should work), before completing “The New High King”, and before the final boss fight.

Investing in Charisma and Intuition will help you in many situations, so we strongly advise doing so.

  • You’ll need all factions to be at “Friendly” status by the end of the game, apart from Coin Guard who simply have to be at “Nice”. Make sure you choose diplomatic solutions when solving quests to keep everyone happy. As long as they are at this level, the factions will join you in the “Together for Teer Fradee” quest.
  • Complete all companion quests and earn Friendly/Loving status. We advise completing quests as soon as possible to avoid getting locked out of them. This is especially essential with Kurt.
  • During “Saint and Wild”, give the tablets to Eugenia. Afterward, you must convince the Mother Cardinal to tell the truth about San Matheus using your Charisma and Intuition.
  • Complete “In the Name of Science”. During “The Experiments of Dr. Asili” you must capture Asili. Do not kill Asili, and then he will be put on trial. Ensure you do everything to make sure he is condemned for his actions by collecting witnesses and evidence.
  • Give Dunncas the crown during “The New High King”.
  • Choose to kill Constantin at the very end.

This will unlock the “A Better World” achievement/trophy.

New Gods

Regardless of whatever setup you have prior to the ending, such as faction alliances or whoever is High King, you simply need to do the below in order to unlock this ending.

  • Choose to join Constantin at the very end.

You can simply reload your autosave/manual save from before the final fight and choose the other option in the final scene to get this ending.

This will unlock the “New Gods” achievement/trophy.

Island for Sale

  • Give Ullan the crown during “The New High King”.
  • Choose to kill Constantin at the very end.

It does not matter whether you have united all of the factions or not, so you can simply reload your save file from before “The New High King” and choose Ullen instead of Dunncas.

This will unlock the “Island for Sale” achievement/trophy.

A Big Step Towards Peace

  • Do not unite all factions. You need at least one of the factions to not be at Friendly (or Nice when it comes to the Coin Guard).
  • Give Dunncas the crown during “The New High King”.
  • Choose to kill Constantin at the very end.

Reload a save from before uniting all factions and then choose not to complete quests such as “Egon’s Face” to prevent yourself from gaining full loyalty from the factions before heading for the final boss fight.

This will unlock the “A Big Step Towards Peace” achievement/trophy.

Back to the Roots

  • Give Derdre the crown during “The New High King”.
  • Choose to kill Constantin at the very end.

It does not matter whether you have united all of the factions or not, so you can simply reload your save file from before “The New High King” and choose Derdre instead of Dunncas.

This will unlock the “Back to the Roots” achievement/trophy.
