UPDATE ONE: Rockstar Games have now confirmed a complete outage on PS4, Xbox One and PC for GTA Online servers. Red Dead Online is also affected, as is Social Club services.
“We are aware of an issue affecting access to Social Club and our game servers. We are currently investigating,” is the latest update from the Rockstar support team.
Right now, GTA Online servers are registered as down and there is no ETA on when they might return.
ORIGINAL: GTA Online is reportedly down today for players on multiple platforms.
In a rare occurrence of a blanket outage, Rockstar services are currently unavailable for gamers trying to access Red Dead Online and GTA 5 servers.
Players are seeing error reports popping up when trying to access core services associated with Rockstar Games today.
“Error response received from Steam. Please try again later. If the issue continues, please contact Steam Support. Code: 1000.50,” one error message reads.
And one affected user adds: “When entering the social club account an unexpected error crashes in Wisconsin, USA.”
It’s unclear what is causing issues with the popular online modes for GTA 5 and Red Dead Online, or how long it might last.
But based on the error messages being received by fans, it’s a problem on Rockstar’s end and not an issue with the platform being used.
According to the official Rockstar Games support website, Red Dead Online is affected on PS4 and Xbox One, while GTA 5 Online is suffering an outage on all major platforms.
Services for all major games from the studio are limited for now, with more information expected if problems continue.
