GTA Online just keeps growing. It has had dozens of updates and countless game modes to participate in, and just one of them is the Carnage mode, which is exactly what it sounds like: carnage. Yourself and at least one other player are put into an arena where you’ll have to engage in a destruction derby until only one survives – it’s for this reason that you should probably make sure to go into the mission with a vehicle that is suitably powerful and threatening. Mounted guns should do the trick.
In this guide, we’re going to walk you through how to start the Carnage game mode, and what you should do to make sure that you’re equipped and ready to come out of the other side as the victor. Brace yourself, because depending on who you go up against, this can be a very tough ride.
How To Start A Carnage Game In GTA Online
To get started in Carnage mode you can just click on a few objectives that you can see in your menus. There are a lot of options, so I can’t blame you for getting lost. Just follow these instructions…
- Go to the Online menu.
- Select Play Job.
- Select Rockstar Created.
- Select Arena War, and then select Carnage from the sub-menu.
Once you’ve chosen your game type it’s time to invite others, which may be randoms online playing or other players from your crew. Before you get started in the Carnage mission you’ll be given the option of what kind of vehicle you wish to use.
The goal here is to be the last one standing. You can win just by shunting at your opponent and leading them over flames and other hazards, but your best chance of winning comes from being mobile and shooting a lot of bullets. In other words, mounted guns help a lot, and will make winning a Carnage mission way easier.
How To Win A Carnage Game In GTA Online
We’ve already given you most of the information you need, but victory isn’t assured quite yet. If you want to win you’ll need both luck and guile.
Assuming you have the correct vehicle choice – something small and fast with mounted guns – then that’s half the battle solved. Getting into a battle with another car where you’re repeatedly ramming them into obstacles isn’t the fastest or most reliable way to fight in Carnage mode.
Next, you should be tricky. If there are multiple players in the game, there’s no reason to be the first to engage. Likewise, I’ve mentioned there are obstacles covering the arena – why should you drive through them, when you can wait for your opponent to come to you?
And heck, if you know where they’re coming, why not just hide around the corner where it’s awkward for them to reach, and then ram/shoot them as soon as they’ve lured themselves into the line of fire? In general, most opponents will be overly eager to hunt you down and fight, but you just have to wait for them to make a mistake first.
