KFC’s Bargain Bucket games console takes on Xbox with built-in chicken chamber

The fried chicken giant KFC has a long-awaited games console in the works to take on the PS5 and Xbox—and it's shaped just like a bargain bucket.

The supposedly VR-ready, 4K games console has everything you'd want from a high-end gaming PC, and is capable of playing every major new title.

But it comes with one key difference: a 'Chicken Chamber' which uses the system's natural heating to keep gamers' fried chicken warm.

Designed in collaboration with gaming company Cooler Master, the KFC Console was first teased in June 2020 but is still nowhere to be seen.

The fast food gaming machine still doesn't have a price or formal release date, but Cooler Master has launched an official product page where it promises to give gamers 'stunning 4K 240fps' gameplay.

When the console was first announced, KFC said: "The Bargain Bucket-shaped machine features the world's first built-in chicken chamber, which is kitted out to keep its contents hot, ready for consumption during intense gaming sessions."

It also comes with a built-in cooling system to ensure that the console's components remain at a stable temperature while the chicken keeps hot.

Mark Cheevers, PR & Social Media Lead at KFC UK, said: "We all know the console war is vicious, but we're very confident in the KFConsole as our flagship entry.

"This machine is capable of running games at top-level specs, all on top of keeping your meal warm for you to enjoy during your gaming experience… what's not to like?"

It's unclear whether the KFConsole will ever see the light of day, but if it ever does go on sale, you can bet it'll sell out quicker than a Zinger meal.

There's no word yet on how the console will help gamers keep the controller clean of chicken grease, so here's hoping it comes with a built-in handwipe dispenser.
