It looks like we now know where Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is going to hang his hat for the foreseeable future. After returning to Twitch for the first time last month, Ninja has announced he’s signed a multi-year deal to stream exclusively on Twitch.
“I am excited to get back to streaming full-time and connecting with my loyal fanbase,” said Ninja in a prepared statement. “In this next chapter, I’m going to make it a point to elevate and bring more eyes to underrepresented creators. I am looking forward to working with Twitch to demonstrate how this amazing community of gamers can make a meaningful impact.”
Ninja said that he “took his time to decide which platform was best” after first streaming on YouTube earlier in the summer. Ninja was left without a home after Microsoft’s Mixer service suddenly shut down in June. A month after trying YouTube, Ninja returned to Twitch with a surprise stream at the beginning of August, revealing his new long-haired look and what games he’ll potentially be playing.
One of those will almost certainly be Fall Guys. Ninja recently won a charity auction held by Fall Guys developer Mediatonic to see who would get to design the next in-game costume. Ninja combined his bid with MrBeast, Aim Lab, and G2 Esports to donate an astounding $1 million towards Special Effect, a UK-based charity that aims to help gamers with physical disabilities all over the world.
“Tyler is an iconic force in the gaming community, and it’s been amazing to see the impact he’s made on the industry and broader culture,” noted Michael Aragon, SVP of content at Twitch. “Gaming – and the people who love it – are being recognized by a broad mainstream audience now in part because of Tyler, and we know he’s just getting started.”
Ninja will host his first official stream under this new deal starting at 3 PM EST today. Check out the action on his Twitch channel here.
