Nintendo Switch Blockbuster Sale has started – Mario and Zelda at 33% off

A new Nintendo Switch sale has begun on Nintendo UK’s website, with up to 80% off some titles and discounts on first party games.

One of the difficulties of being a Nintendo fan is the knowledge that their games never decrease in price over time, not because Nintendo are evil but because people are always willing to pay full price as long as the game is worth it.

Nintendo also tends to have less sales than Microsoft or Sony, although they are getting better at that recently, with a new ‘Blockbuster Sale’ having just started on the eShop in Europe and due to run until Sunday, October 3 at the oddly specific time of 10.59pm BST.

As you’d expect, it’s the third party games that have the biggest discounts, but even so, Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Splatoon 2 have all had their prices cut by 33%.

None of those games are very new, and it’s slightly odd that Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is not included, but they’re all great titles and certainly worth the asking price.

You can see the full list of games in the sale below, but other notable discounts include excellent multiplayer game Overcook Special Edition, the surprisingly good The Witcher 3, the even more surprisingly good Sonic Mania, and the Doom Slayers Collection – which includes Doom 1, 2, and 3 plus Doom 64 and the 2016 reboot.

There’s other good stuff too, such as the Shin Megami Tensei 3 remaster, which was a hard sell at full price but is made more tempting at 33% off. In fact, most of the games are quite tempting, if you haven’t already got them, including Shovel Knight, Ni No Kuni, and Ori And The Will Of The Wisp.
