There is great news for all the players out there who are passionate about filling up their Pokédex. It’s no secret that some Pokémon are more of a pain to evolve than others. For example, the only way to evolve Scyther into Scizor is by trading it while also holding a metal coat, of which only one is available. Likewise, to be able to evolve a Farfetch’d to a Sirfetch’d, a player must get Farfetch’d to land three critical hits in the same battle.
Depending on your view, evolving a Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowking in Pokémon Sword and Shield makes the list of most frustrating tasks. The only way to do this so far has been to spend the time collecting 15 Galarica Twigs and then trading these to a woman found in the Roaring-Sea Caves area for a Galarica Wreath. Though not impossible, completing this task can be quite time-consuming and frustrating, since Galarica Twigs themselves are rare.
Luckily, for exactly 24 hours that begin at the start of the South Korean Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tournament, a code is going to be released to players that grants them one Galarica Wreath. According to Serebii, this code will expire at 14:59 UTC on December 20th. This event is not region-specific, so any player will be able to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Galarian Slowking can be greatly beneficial to a singles or doubles team. This Pokémon can be built for defense or offense with its poison-type set, so you can make it fit in with essentially any team. But it’s most unique given its strong resistance to fairy, grass, poison, and fighting types, making Slowking a brick wall defender.
Completing the Pokédex is a goal that many players feel strongly about, and this is a rare opportunity that absolutely cannot be missed to achieve that. Though at least with evolving Slowpoke, there is a realistic, reliable way to achieve that evolution without the code, whereas trying to land three critical hits in one battle seems like a much more daunting task. Fortunately, this probably isn’t the last time a helpful code will be released for evolution purposes.
