PS Plus April 2020: PS4 free games update ahead of PlayStation Plus release

Another PS Plus free game is available to download during April 2020, ahead of the next PlayStation Plus update. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0 are being made available on April 7, 2020, for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The news was confirmed earlier this month by Sony, who told PS4 owners: “Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed adventure epic arrives on PS Plus!

“Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves.

“With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a visually stunning globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.

“Nathan Drake’s greatest adventure will require quick wits, fast fists and inventive use of weaponry while testing his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.”

But while Uncharted 4 is likely to be the big focus for more PS4 gamers who have yet to play it, there is another option available to check out right now.

Elder Scrolls Online is available to play for free until April 13 on PS4 and Xbox One, however, not everyone will be getting access.

As noted by Bethesda this week, a PlayStation Plus subscription will be needed to enjoy this latest trial, which includes the new Greymoor Prologue.

“Check out The Elder Scrolls Online and descend into the Dark Heart of Skyrim adventure,” the message from Bethesda reads.

“Starting April 1 at 10:00 AM EDT, you can play the ESO base game and check out the Greymoor Chapter Prologue FREE on all platforms through April 13.

“Steam’s Free Play Event will run from April 1 through April 6. You will need PlayStation Plus membership if playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Live Gold membership if playing on Xbox One.”

So if you can wait for the launch of Dirt Rally 2.0 and Uncharted 4 this week, you can download and play ESO right now.

And it’s also worth pointing out the other stuff that is still available if you own a PS Plus subscription.

As ever, the current PlayStation Plus games for PS4 are still available to download. And this deal will remain in place unil Sony refreshes the PlayStation Store.

This is due to happen on April 7, meaning there is still plenty of time to claim Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces.

“Rebuilt from the ground up by Bluepoint Games and JAPAN Studio, Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4 system introduces the awe of its unforgettable world and towering creatures to a new generation of gamers, while allowing long time fans to revisit the beloved masterpiece with unparalleled visual fidelity and improved performance.

“Tales speak of an ancient realm where Colossi roam the majestic landscape. Bound to the land, these creatures hold a key to a mystical power of revival – a power you must obtain to bring a loved one back to life.”

More freebies could be revealed by Sony in the coming weeks as part of the PS Plus April 2020 lineup.
