More PS5 stock is arriving this week, and GAME could be one of the first retailers to offer next-gen consoles during October 2021.
Predictions were made that GAME would launch a new PlayStation shipment around September 23, alongside other big names.
But while Amazon and John Lewis released stock, there was nothing announced by GAME during that same period.
And while that would have been disappointing for gamers, the good news is that the same stock is reportedly releasing soon.
The latest updates were shared by PS5 Stock UK – a reliable stock tracker account on Twitter – which is known for providing the best guides on what’s happening next.
They provided the latest on the situation, revealing that GAME will likely release its next shipment of PS5 consoles on October 1.
That’s an extra week of waiting, but thousands of PlayStation gaming machines are expected to arrive.
PS5 Stock UK on Twitter revealed on Twitter this week: “The GAME drop supposedly taking place this week was a ‘simple miscommunication’ by the company internally.
This was followed by further updates stating: “The dates uploaded on the bundles page (30/09) were a mistake due to miscommunication within the company.
“It is said there was never meant to be a drop as the current deliveries for the most recent drop are only finishing today.
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
“The dates have been updated on the GAME bundles page after our previous news. Priority deliveries will be shipped by 7th October, with all other delivery methods by 11th October. Restock is expected on 1st October with FIFA 22 bundles.”
As always, gamers should take this latest news with a pinch of salt and be prepared for further delays during the month of October.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected around October 1.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. The final stock drop from Amazon occurred this week in September.
