Rainbow Six Siege Is Getting A “Tactical 1-on-1” Board Game

Rainbow Six Siege continues to dominate the competitive gaming scene, but it seems that’s not enough for the ever-popular title. Mythic Games – in collaboration with Ubisoft – has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new board game based on the tactical shooter, and it’s already exceeded its funding goal by more than $500,000.

Titled 6: Siege – The Board Game, the physical adaption of Ubisoft’s FPS looks to recreate the same tense shootouts players have grown accustomed to on PC and console. You’ll be smashing through walls and setting traps up traps across two maps, all while racing against an ever-ticking timer that adds an element of urgency to everything you do.

With 20 operators, two maps, and a variety of game aids and inventory boards, 6: Siege is shaping up to be a faithful reimagining of Rainbow Six Siege.

“This board game was made by a fan for fans, it captures the spirit of the game and brings it directly to your tabletop,” said Leroy Athanassoff, creative director on Rainbow Six Siege. “Now you have a new way to play Rainbow Six Siege offline thanks to Mythic Games.”

There are still a few days remaining in the Kickstarter campaign, although the team has far surpassed its $100,000 goal, pulling in nearly $650,000 at the time of writing. The game is expected to be delivered to backers in June 2022, although Mythic Games is also hoping to bring 6: Siege to retail.

If you pledge at least $69 to the project, you’ll be sent the 6: Siege game when it launches next year, along with an exclusive alternate Zero operator and free codes for one Rainbow Six Siege operator skin. You can learn more about the project on its official Kickstarter.

In other Rainbow Six news, Ubisoft recently entered a collaboration with Razer to bring a flashy new design to the BlackShark V2 Pro headset. Featuring an R6 design with a white and orange color palette, the Rainbow Six reskin is now available for purchase – although it comes in at a hefty $199.
