The English Trailer For Pokemon The Movie: Secrets Of The Jungle Is Here

New details about the localization of the next Pokemon movie have arrived. Its name is Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, and its first English trailer can be watched online now.

The Pokemon movies are currently following a separate continuity from the anime. Ash and Pikachu are still the main characters and Team Rocket is still pursuing them, but the other characters and storylines are different from the TV show. The next movie is called Pocket Monsters the Movie: Koko in Japan and it was supposed to be released over the summer. The Koko movie and the Pokemon anime were delayed due to COVID, but the film is now set to be released in December. Pocket Monsters the Movie: Koko is expected to receive a theatrical run, despite the ongoing COVID issues in Japan.

The Pokemon Company has finally revealed information about the English localization of the next Pokemon movie. The Engish title of the film is Pokemon: the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle and it’s due to be released in 2021. The trailer confirms that the boy is named Koko in the English dub and not Coco. The trailer can now be seen on The Official Pokemon YouTube Channel.

Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle involves Ash meeting a boy named Koko, who has been raised by wild Pokemon. Koko has a familial relationship with a Mythical Pokemon named Zarude. A Shiny Celebi also has a role in the movie, as does the concept of time travel. The premise of the movie is clearly based on Tarzan, and this wouldn’t be the first time Pokemon referenced that book. There was an early episode of the Pokemon anime called “The Kangaskhan Kid”, which involved Ash encountering a wild boy named Tommy in the Safari Zone.

The Pokemon movies generally receive a limited cinematic release, but the COVID situation means that’s unlikely to happen. The growing relationship between Netflix and the Pokemon franchise means that the English version of the film will likely come to the streaming platform after its Japanese release.
