Square Enix has released The Last Remnant Remastered on iOS and Android devices without any kind of announcement or lead-up. The game can be downloaded from your respective app store today and will cost $20, however, it will not feature any kind of microtransactions within the game.First spotted by Engadget, The Last Remnant Remastered is a port from the 2008 Xbox 360 title — which also received a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port last year.Per the game's official description, The Last Remnant Remastered will feature "a world woven together by four races — Mitra, Yama, Qsiti, and Sovani." Hidden throughout the world are different "Remnants" which have existed since the ancient times. Due to their immense power, they have been the source of numerous wars. The game will take place 1,000 years after the events of the final war over the Remnants.Alongside a hefty price tag for a mobile game, The Last Remnant Remaster will also take up a fair amount of storage on your device, with iPhone users having to sacrifice 8.5GB and Android users giving up 6.1GB.The game has been met with mixed reviews on the iOS App Store so far, with some users praising the game, and other users reporting crashes in the first battle while using an iPhone XR.Square Enix recently revealed that the Final Fantasy 7 remake would be a timed PS4 exclusive until 2021. Further, it has also announced that the Final Fantasy 7 remake Part 2 is already in development.
