Leaked concept art for the rumored Resident Evil 4 remake didn't come from him, according to DC Douglas. That's the message being received after concept art showing Wester in as he'd appear in the Separate Ways expansion began circulating on Twitter last weekend.
"I have announced nothing, posted nothing, and repeatedly stated that I am not under any contract with Capcom (RE4 or otherwise). I won't be commenting further on any RE rumors because I have two cats that really need my attention," Wesker voice actor DC Douglas wrote on Facebook. "I excitedly await RE4 news just like the rest of you!"
The response comes following a post from Twitter account @BewareCreepyVAs which purportedly showed concept art for Albert Wesker as he'd appear in the Separate Ways portion of the RE4 remake. The post accused Douglas of not only discussing the RE4 remake on stream but also sending the concept art to fans via direct Twitter message, asking them to not share the art as he's under NDA by Capcom.
The posts go on to accuse Douglas of grooming, sexual harassment, and other improprieties. In response to these accusations, Douglas posted a link to an old blog entry saying he’d become the target of a smear campaign from a former fan with who he had a "casual, non-monogamous relationship" that "spanned a total of 8 hours in person."
"They are at it again,” wrote Douglas. “If you're on Twitter and you see the "drama" he's referring to, please share this linked post with your friends and RE fans."
Although unconfirmed by Capcom, Resident Evil 4 is expected to receive the same remake treatment that Resident Evil 2 and 3 have already gotten. Both games have been financial successes for Capcom, and Resident Evil 4 is widely seen as one of the best in the franchise.
In the meantime, Resident Evil 4 VR is probably the best Oculus game you can play right now, and it’s even getting the Mercenaries expansion next year.
