There’s a chance that Microsoft could be about to add one of 2020’s most popular indie titles to Xbox Game Pass.

When it comes to rumours, they need to be taken with a big pinch of salt. But, if they prove correct, it could make for a cracking 2021 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X gamers.

Microsoft only just announced its latest range of Xbox Game Pass games for January 2021, but the good thing about the service is that its lineup refreshes regularly.

And a new report this week, via Comic Book, suggests that Hades could be coming to Xbox consoles, via Xbox Game Pass.

Hades is a rogue-like Dungeon-Crawler currently only available to play on PC and Nintendo Switch.

It provided a massive hit for developers Supergiant Games, following a period in early access.

Not only did it help scratch that rogue-like itch for many gamers, but it also gained plaudits for its art style.

And if it is arriving on Xbox One next, that could mean it’s going to be available from launch via Xbox Game Pass.

Before anyone gets too excited, it should be noted that no official news has been shared by Microsoft or Supergiant Games regarding Hades coming to Xbox.

So fans will have to keep an eye out for the latest news on what’s being planned next. We would certainly expect a few hints to be dropped before anything is officially revealed.

It would certainly provide the Xbox Game Pass a massive boost ahead of the next free games reveals for February and March.

PS5 gamers already know that they are getting a brand new title in February called Destruction AllStars, via PlayStation Plus.

That’s without mentioning the other two free PS4 games that will be included as part of the PSN refresh.

Supergiant Games revealed back in September 2020 that they were open to porting Hades to other platforms, telling gamers at the time:

“Hey, we’ve launched v1.0 of Hades only on Nintendo Switch, and PC and Mac via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

“We’ll be considering opportunities to bring the game to additional platforms down the line. Thank you for your interest.”

A full game description for Hades can be found below and includes the following details:

“Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

“As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

“Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

“The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that’s been core to Supergiant’s games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.”
