This is what Halo Infinite’s weapon skins will look like

Halo Infinite was delayed until next year, but that’s not stopping the marketing partnerships. A partnership between Monster Energy and Halo Infinite will start its marketing rollout on Tuesday and continue through December. This means when you buy a Halo Infinite branded can of Monster Energy during that period, you can get an exclusive in-game item, although the stuff you earn won’t be available until the game comes out.

Part of that rollout is a first look at weapon skins in Halo Infinite — naturally, the ones shown are Monster Energy-themed, but it’ll give eager players a look at what sort of designs could come later. These skins, of course, have a very Monster Energy vibe, which turns the weapons green and black — a subtle vibe, but a vibe nonetheless.

Weapon skins are a relatively new concept to the Halo franchise, with 343 Industries first adding them to Halo: Combat Evolved as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection in 2020. Visors and vehicles can have skins applied, too. Other games, like Halo 3, have also been updated with skins. There is, however, an option to toggle on visibility of skins or not. If you don’t want to see weapon skins in multiplayer, you can turn them off, so you’re not seeing what others have equipped.

Another skin, this time for Snapchat, will also be released as part of the Monster Energy promotion. Now, the skin is for you. Turn yourself into the Master Chief. It’s good.

Halo Infinite is expected to be released in 2021. Its multiplayer will be free-to-play, 343 Industries confirmed in July.
